|In 1868, B.F. Shriver founded his canning factory in Littlestown.
At one point in its long history, Shriver’s company farmed 5,000 acres,
and produced in one year more than 500,000 can of peas, sweet corn, green beans, tomatoes and pickles at its plants in Littlestown, Westminster and New Windsor.
